Here Are 5 Brands That Support Pride Month

It's common for companies to claim that community is the core of their business, but this is true for these LGBTQ-owned beauty businesses. These brands foster a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, especially those in need.

Don't fall for corporate pinkwashing that is rainbow-covered. Instead, support independent brands founded by members of the LGBTQ+ community. To support Pride month and beyond, here are 16 LGBTQ-owned beauty businesses and a few founders from skincare, fragrance, and hair care.

Snif

Snif, a brand of fragrances that are gender-neutral, makes candles and perfumes at an affordable price. It also offers trial kits that allow customers to try the fragrances before they commit to buying. Phil Riportella (Snif co-founder, co-CEO) says, "At Snif we're removing gendered terms from the fragrance conversation and making scents that can be loved by all." "Our LGBTQIA+ community is an amazing inspiration for us to continue creating products and a brand authentic and inclusive for everyone."

Malin + Goetz

Malin + Goetz was founded by Matthew Malin, a life partner, and Andrew Goetz. They are focused on the essentials. Since 2004, the brand offers gender-neutral skin care, adding a coveted fragrance, and body and hair care products. The brand's simple approach combined with luxury makes it a favorite among New York City residents and others. In honor of the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, 50% of all online and store sales will be donated to The Trevor Project.

Madison Reed

Target and Ulta now carry the brand. What started out as brick-and-mortar Color Bars in San Francisco, New York City, has evolved into a hair-color company anyone can access from home. Madison Reed offers online tools and virtual consultations that will help you find the perfect shade for your hair.

Good light

David Yi, the founder of AAPI, has glowing skin. You can see why his skincare line is delivering results. The AAPI-owned brand's formulas are designed to be effective for all skin types, regardless of gender identity. Moon Glow Milky Toning Lotion has been a hit because of its light, ultra-hydrating formula.

Common Heir

The queer, WOC-founded brand is dedicated to making beauty more sustainable by using plastic-free packaging and simple formulas. Common Heir, which was created by Angela Ubias, chief product officer, and Cary Lin CEO, was launched two years ago to show that high-performing skin products can be packaged in biodegradable containers.
